Lucy is a self-taught artist, living in Rawdon, and surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire Countryside, which is where she gets most of her inspiration.

After giving up work when her children were born, she discovered, after lots of art and crafts sessions, that she was in fact quite arty. After this any spare time was spent painting in watercolour, most commonly wildlife, hares, bees and flowers, often painted in different colours to their natural state. She then decided to get some of her images printed by a local company to make notebooks and cards.

After a year as a Teaching Assistant when her hours were cut due to financial constraints, she decided to embrace the situation and put all her efforts into her artwork.

Lucy also got the bug for Abstract Acrylic Pour Paintings which she finds are just fabulous to do and so addictive. Due to the process and the many ways or “pouring” each one is completely unique. Her studio (kitchen and dining room) is full of them, either drying, waiting to be varnished or the finished item and she often posts videos of the process on her Instagram site.

In the last couple of years Lucy has gone back to a Teaching Assistant Role in a local school and enjoys combining her art with her school position.
